A Fall Huntington Beach Wedding {Aaron & Regina}

This is a wedding that I (Derek) have been looking forward to all year. I’ve known Aaron since the 4th grade, as well as his best man, Mo- and quite a few other the guests- so it was almost a mini high school reunion of sorts. We lost touch for a long time after high school, but thanks to the wonderful power of facebook, we were able to reconnect again… After graduating, you never quite know how people will end up- it makes me so happy to see when people are doing well and life is thriving. When we met up for their engagement shoot earlier this year, it was clear to see why Aaron & Regina are meant for each other- Sarah and I were so happy to be a part of their big day!

Somewhere in a shoebox up in a closet is probably a picture just like this from elementary/junior high school…

A Hilton Waterfront Huntington Beach Wedding {Kelly & Matt Married!}

We recently got to work with the wonderful Holly of Simply Sweet Wedding on Kelly & Matt’s Hilton Waterfront wedding. The hotel is gorgeous, the day was beautiful, and the couple is so sweet- the best combination one could ask for! And if you haven’t seen it yet, check out Kelly & Matt’s engagement shoot. South Coast Winery Wedding {Tayler & Michael Married!}

September 24th was an interesting day for Sarah and I- we shot separately that day (which we don’t do that often), and both our brides were named Tayler (mine with an “er” and hers with an “or”). So, all year long we’ve been referring to them as “my Tayler” and “your Taylor”…

“My Tayler’s” wedding was easily one of my favorites of the year; when I first met with Tayler & her mother we hit it off immediately, and their engagement shoot was tons of fun. Tayler & Michael were high school sweethearts; I love shooting these types of weddings because the couples and their families have such an endearing sense of connection. They are awesome people, and it was a pleasure to get to know their family and friends on their big day!

Tayler was a trooper for rocking these Valentino shoes for all of their vineyard portraits.

Tayler & Michael- Sarah and I make a point to think about and pray for our clients a lot; I’ve truly enjoyed getting to know you guys better over the past year or so. I have a tremendous amount of respect for your sense of values and character. You two are good people with good families. You will go far in life. Thanks for having me be a part of your day!
