The weather was perfect for Ashley & Ben’s wedding at Cannons Restaurant in Dana Point! Ashley and I first met several years ago at my best friend Krystin’s wedding; we were both bridesmaids, so when she asked me to be her wedding photographer I was totally excited, knowing I would see familiar faces. I first met Ben when we did their engagement shoot over the summer and they make such a sweet couple together! On to the day…
Ashley got ready nearby at the Blue Lantern Inn; if you haven’t seen it, it’s a gorgeous bed and breakfast with an amazing view of Dana Point Harbor. Derek and I will definitely have to go stay there some time! 🙂
The boys, hanging out down by the Dana Point Ocean Institute.
And of course, the ladies looking fab.
We did their first look on the other side of the Ocean Institute just past the Dana Point breakwater. Incidentally, for those getting married in the fall (when it gets dark early) or who have a very tight schedule on their wedding day, I highly recommend a “first look”. It helps take the pressure off the day, but more importantly helps the bride and groom to have sweet moments like these:
We did a few more portraits before the ceremony- also check out the little guitars all the guys had as their boutonnieres- totally awesome!
I absolutely loved this banner! It as well as the invites and “concert tickets” you’ll see in the next pic were designed by Jodi, one of Ashley’s bridesmaids, who is also a fabulous wedding designer.
Seriously breathtaking view off the back of Cannons Restaurant’s balcony…
I loved this shot of Ashley relaxing after the ceremony.
So… it got dark really quickly after the ceremony, so we improvised a little bit… these next two shots were back lit courtesy of a Ford F-150. When the sun is gone, and the off-camera flash isn’t quite cutting it, I highly advise a good set of high beams!
Ashley & Ben- We had so much fun with you guys! Thanks for rockin’ it out!
