Like it, Love it, want some more of it!

Thought I’d share some of my favorite things as of late. Here’s my ever random list of things that make me happy, are fun, or that I just like…

*Jasmine tea

We had the pleasure of sipping this tea wih our breakfasts when we stayed at the Simpson House in Santa Barbara…oooohhh it’s so yummy and soothing.

*Jackson’s haircut

He went from this.

to this.

*Side note- this is him on his last day of school with his teacher Mrs. Johnson. It was such a fun year for Jackson, and she was SO great to him!

*Side, side note- Raylee got her first haircut that day too. I REALLY didn’t want to cut her hair, but Derek convinced me that her “fe-mullet” was getting too out of control; so I had to cut the length off the back so it would grow out evenly.

And here is her after…

*LOST and 24

This is a bit of old news… but I love LOST and 24 and they are over!!! So this is a “like it” because the finales were awesome and both theses shows are fabulous, but a definite “don’t like it”, because they won’t be coming back next season!:(

Moment of silence for the best Jack’s to ever be on tv.

*Taylor Swift

Any time I heard her songs on the radio I liked them, but for some reason I can’t get enough of listening to the Fearless album. Yes, yes, it’s total teen music, but I love it!!

*Door locks

Yes door locks. Our little angels have been waking up around 5:30-5:45am for the last several months. And when they wake up they throw the door open, run into our room, climb up on our bed, bounce on us, throw toys on us, talk and/or sing loudly, knees and elbows flying in painful places… you know the usual 2 and 3 year old stuff.

Anyway…it was messing with Derek’s and my mental balance. Derek said, it was like what he imagines sleep deprivation torture to be… haha. Being in a dead sleep and every day having the lights flipped on and someone right up in your face screaming at you.

So we decided to take action. We’ve locked em in.  They know if they wake up they have to stay in their rooms and play quietly or read, until it’s official “time to get up.” And now that they are used to it, they actually sleep in later… go figure. It was one of the best parenting and self preservation decisions we’ve ever made.

*Red Velvet

Man that stuff is SO good! I attempted my own little Cake Ball Pops like the fabulous Sweet & Saucy Shop for Raylee’s birthday last month, and they were a huge hit! Since then I’ve been all about that red velvet. Stater Bros has these little 2 bite mini cupcakes that are addicting! I must stop!

*Treasure hunting

The thrill of it all is SO much fun!! I get giddy when I find fun things at flea markets and garage sales…and I’ve found some fun things lately. I will post pics later; once they are placed in our home.

Any likes you want to share with us?? I’d love to hear about the latest and greatest in your lives!

Lois Hudson - I’m a friend of Madison and Jason’s (didn’t get to go to the wedding). Thanks for these GREAT pictures. You did a fantastic job! Great angles, great focus; of course you had great subjects! :-) Thank you so much.

Renee - This made me smile! Oh and Raylee’s hair is so cute, no need for a “fe-mullet”, good call cutting it if she had one goin’ on :)
