1 year ago…{we leaped}

We were full of hope, ambition, and excitement.

We were also a bit scared, and anxious…in a good way.

We knew God was calling us to a different life than we were used to…a risky and potentially unstable life.

We listened to that nudging in our spirits.

We took a leap… a big leap.

Sarah Frenzel Photography was no more a part time endeavor, but Frenzel Photographers became our full time career.

Derek quit his full time job to pursue our dreams, and to realize our call.

And since that day in April, we have been reminded again and again that the God we love is SO faithful! We made a huge change that didn’t seem smart or sensible to a lot of people, given the economy.  We knew in our heart of hearts though that this is where we were supposed to be.

From what our little part time business had on the books we had means to live for about 3 months, and then we were trusting God for the rest. And let me tell you… there have been MANY a day in this past year where we’ve wondered how provision would come, but be it known… it always came!  This year has taught us SO much about ourselves, our passions, our greater vision in this career, how to work together, and mostly God. We publicly thank Him for the lessons he has taught us through difficult times, and the blessings He has poured out…all because we decided to let Him lead…

Why not take a risk?

Why not trust God?

He did create the world and all, he can probably handle feeding and clothing our kids, and paying our bills.

Not only have we survived our 1st year full time…God has paved the way for us to thrive, bringing us many new clients, and opening doors for our business to grow.

*We ended up doing over 90 shoots last year.

*We have made some incredible friends in the industry…fellow photographers and others.

*We have 14 couples’ weddings to be a part of so far this year, and a few for next as well.

*We have started mentoring new photographers, as well as helping lead various meetings and shoots.

*We are in process as I type, of FINALLY pulling all our branding together…website, blog, print materials, and video. We can’t wait to share it all in the next few months.

So, thank you, thank you, thank you to our family, friends, and fellow industry friends who support us and have faith in us.

And Derek…thank you for being willing, for being brave enough to let go of security, for believing in me and my often times crazy ideas, but mostly, thank you for listening to that spirit nudge, and for being a man of obedience…it will forever shape our family.

And to the amazing clients that have come our way this past year…we are SO blessed to do what we love full time; and that wouldn’t be possible without you!:)

Stephanie - You guys already know that your friendship means the world to me, but I wanted you to know that watching you over these last years from before you even decided to give it ago Sarah….your faith has touched my life. As you started giving everything over to God and pursued the passion that God put in your heart and began using the talent you were born with (that is truly God-given) to dropping everything and obeying God to make this not only your job, but your full-time ministry, I am so blessed by you. I am blessed by the example you have given. I am blessed by your compassion for others and your obedience to your husband and Derek, your obedience to the Lord. I am also blessed by the beautiful memories you’ve helped us capture over the years that hang on our walls and are placed in our family albums. I am excited to see where God takes you in the upcoming years. Love you guys and Congratulations!!!!!
