Dear Mr. Determined and Ms. Precocious…

Jackson and Raylee you give me a run for my money! So often lately I find myself stepping back and saying things like, “Gosh, you kids are so wild”, “Wow… you guys are SO loud”, “Holy cow that is a huge mess”, etc.  I know that crazy tantrums, huge spills, meltdowns in stores, and all out brawls are part of raising little children; and because you are too young to understand the intense swing between utter love and adoration, and complete frustration and despair that is parenting, I at the end of the day- no matter how difficult or exhausting it was- will still cuddle you, kiss you, pray with you, and tuck you in your beds with a sweet joy that fills my heart to the top. Thank you for the joy you both bring to my life… it is one that can always brighten my day.

Jackson- You are 3 years and 4 months old, and recently you have brought a whole new level of sweet to the table. You tell me I’m your best friend and you call Raylee sweetie girl. You tell me that I look pretty and you will often come up to me and ask for a hug or “piss”.  I’m so glad that you are so sweet, because that determined spirit I so often write about keeps growing, and can often be quite frustrating, but I am thankful you are driven to figure things out. Keep that spirit buddy! It will get you far… now it may be figuring out a puzzle, how to open a bottle, how to zip up your sweatshirt, or how to squeeze the toothpaste out of the container (yikes!)… but in 20 years who knows what you will be pushing to do… I can only imagine, and it’s so exciting!!

Raylee- Wow you are growing into a little girl fast!! Seeing life through your eyes is one of my favorite things, because you get excited about the little things… the rain, a dog, getting a mint in the car, your milk cup (Milkie!!!), Jackson waking up from a nap, and Daddy giving you a hug. You amaze me with your smarts and with all the words you know at your age. You are 20 months old right now. Some of my favorite things you say are…  Yakson! (Jackson), baby, jooose (juice), peass (please), TB (tv), nana, watuur, teets (treats), night night, and luv you!

I thank God for creating you both with such sweet, determined, and fun spirits, and I am blessed by every minute I have with you.

Love always,  Mommy
